My Top 3 Guided Meditation Sources | Sam Harris, Headspace and Tara Brach

When you have one foot in the future and the other in the past, you piss on the present.
— Dan Harris, 10% Happier

I was chatting to a friend the other day and recommended some guided meditation sources I use.

I thought I would share them here just because I cannot stress the importance of mediation in todays push-notification-driven world enough. I also made a video for you, too. However, It is rather laggy, so I apologise.

Waking Up with Sam Harris

I’ve written about Sam Harris before. I currently use his guided mediation app, Waking Up. The thing about Sam, is he just seems real and authentic — which I love.

Headspace

Headspace is the first guided meditation app I ever used. Andy, the voice-over dude, is just awesome. I left because I got a little bored. He is great — and probably better for most, to be honest — but I just prefer Waking Up at this moment in time.

Tara Brach

Tara Brach has tons of free guided meditations online. I often do one of hers in the afternoon if I get off work or varsity early. My favourite one is Letting Go and Letting Be.

As always, thanks for lending me your valuable time. I hope this helps. Mediation has changed my life in ways I can’t express. It’s a skill that will transfer into everything you do. That skill is called presence.

Proost!
