Weekly Brew #12: Never Go Full Spinal

If you are new here, Weekly Brew is a blend of shit I’ve found interesting in the week, beautifully curated for your eyes to feast on. This includes quotes I’m contemplating, books I’m enjoying or…anything really. It’s the Weekly Brew!

Quote I’m Contemplating

“The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less.”
— Socrates

Lions Cobweb

Lions Head // Signal Hill, Cape Town

It’s crazy to see the damage that was done. Earlier this year, Lions Head went up in flames. It was a sight to behold, seeing this iconic mountain being burnt to crisp from afar.

I remember getting home from varsity and rushing out to try and get some snaps of the occasion. As many did. But, something happened. I actually found myself feeling like a tit. I remember thinking, “this is all for content…what about the fucking fire fighters and people braving that shit!? Here I am, just doing this because it looks cool.”

Anyway, I managed to get some shitty photos (I blame it on the new camera). The one above, however, was from a recent sunset mission between Lions Head and Signal Hill. I just love how the cobwebs are being lit by the descending sun.

I have another Instagram account (I know, who the fuck has three instagram accounts?) purely for my photography. Check it out — @RAWbokeh

Never Go Full Spinal

IMG_7241.jpg

This week, I went full spinal.

I recently commented on Brent Fikowski’s instagram post (Brent is this crazy good CrossFit athlete) and tagged my boy CJ Ward (also a crazy good CrossFit athlete and coach at Motley Crew CrossFit where I train).

It’s kind of an inside joke, but I found it rather funny.

What is cool, is seeing people with 400k followers interacting with mortals like me. Love it.

Before I love and leave you, please consider subscribing to my mailing list for updates and what not on my blog. Peace!
