Blog Post I’m Enjoying

“Hannah Arendt on Love and How to Live with the Fundamental Fear of Loss”

Fearlessness is what love seeks

Brainpickings is, by far, the blog I visit the most. It’s actually gotten to a point where it’s become a fucking distraction it’s so good.

I will not do this brilliant post a disservice by trying to explain it. Give it a read. It’s a beautifully curated piece of content by Maria Popova (the author of BP) on Hannah Arendt’s book, Love and Saint Augustine.

For my 23 years of existence on this planet, I never once considered myself the romantic type. But, I swear to god, Brainpickings will take you places. Trust me. Give it a read by clicking here.

Book I’ve Finished

Do you control the elephant? Or does that big hefty thing control you, the rider?

That is the question and topic around the book I have completed, The Happiness Hypothesis by Jonathan Haidt.

Jonathan writes about ancient wisdom — from Buddha to Jesus — and looks at modern science to draw parallels between the two and give us a common ground to stand on.

Although I was enthusiastically engaged in the beginning, I found myself a little astray towards the end. Overall, great book though — highly recommend the read for you conservatives out there seeking true happiness.

Quote I’m Contemplating

You are not alone in the struggles of life. Entire cosmos is with you. It evolves through the way you face and overcome challenges of life. Use everything in your advantage.
